
ASTM A387 Gr 12 is a medium-temperature hydrogen-resistant steel containing Cr 0.8%-1.25% and Mo 0.45%-0.65%, with excellent resistance to hydrogen embrittlement and temper embrittlement. Its normalized + tempered heat treatment state (CL2) can provide more stable mechanical properties and is suitable for petrochemical equipment at 350-550℃.
The tensile strength of A387 Gr 12 steel plate is 515-690MPa, and the yield strength is ≥310MPa, corresponding to the national standard grade 15CrMoR. It is often used in hydrogenation reactors, synthesis towers and other hydrogen-prone equipment, and its resistance to hydrogen sulfide corrosion is better than ordinary low-alloy steel.
Preheating (≥150℃) and post-weld heat treatment (620-650℃) are required for welding, and AWS A5.5 standard E7018 welding materials are recommended. A third-party inspection report and material certificate are required upon delivery.
