Why does austenitic manganese steel have good wear resistance?

Austenitic manganese steel is a new type of wear-resistant steel, which has better wear-resistant performance than ordinary wear-resistant materials. Then austenitic manganese steel also has certain requirements for the use environment. Only reasonable use of austenitic manganese steel can give full play to its advantages.

If the potential of deformation strengthening ability of austenite matrix manganese steel is not fully developed under low stress, the wear resistance of this matrix material may not be as good as that of high hardness matrix materials such as quenching steel and high speed steel. Therefore, austenitic high manganese steel as wear-resistant material is generally used in high stress environment.

The wear of the equipment is inevitable in the process of use. The wear will undoubtedly increase the consumption of energy metal materials. However, if austenitic manganese steel with high wear resistance is used, the wear will be effectively reduced.
