What is the difference between high strength steel and ordinary strength steel

Compared with ordinary strength steel, high strength steel has higher yield strength and tensile strength. Therefore, replacing ordinary strength steel with high strength steel can reduce section size, save steel consumption, and reduce manufacturing, transportation and installation costs. High strength steel has many advantages. The results show that under the same axial compression condition, the ratio of ultimate stress to yield strength, i.e. overall stability coefficient, is much higher than that of ordinary strength steel.

Compared with ordinary strength steel, high strength steel can reduce the consumption of steel, thus greatly reducing the consumption of iron ore resources; reducing the use of welding materials and various coatings (rust prevention, fire prevention, etc.). The high strength steel can also greatly reduce the consumption of non renewable resources, and reduce the damage of resource exploitation to the environment.
