What grades are available under ASTM A53 standard?

The ASTM A53 steel pipe specification covers seamless and welded black and hot-dipped galvanized carbon steel pipe in NPS 1/8 to NPS 26 [DN 6 to DN 650]. ASTM A53 carbon steel pipes are intended for mechanical and pressure applications and is also acceptable for ordinary uses in gas, steam, water and air lines.

ASTM A53 pipe comes in three types (F, E, S) and two grades (A, B).

Type F—Furnace-butt-welded, continuous welded Grade A,

Type E—Electric-resistance-welded, Grades A and B, and

Type S—Seamless, Grades A and B.
