What do you know about longitudinal welded pipe

Longitudinal welded pipe is a kind of steel pipe whose weld seam is parallel to the steel pipe longitudinally. Longitudinal welded pipe is usually divided into metric electric welded steel pipe, thin-wall electric welding pipe, transformer cooling oil pipe, etc. The production process of longitudinal welded pipe is simple, with high production efficiency, low cost and rapid development.

Generally, the strength of spiral welded pipe is higher than that of longitudinal welded pipe. It can be used to produce welded pipe with larger diameter by using narrow blank, and spiral welded pipe with different diameter can be produced with blank of same width. However, compared with the same length of longitudinal welded pipe, the weld length increases by 30 ~ 100%, and the production speed of spiral welded pipe is lower.

According to the production process, longitudinal welded pipe can be divided into high frequency  longitudinal welded pipe and submerged arc welded pipe. According to different forming methods,  longitudinal welded pipe can be divided into UOE, RBE, JCOE steel pipe, etc.
