
Protecting tube sheets from corrosion requires comprehensive measures. Selecting corrosion-resistant materials such as titanium alloys or duplex stainless steel can significantly improve corrosion resistance. Simultaneously, applying surface treatment technologies, such as sandblasting followed by the application of a polymer anti-corrosion coating, can effectively isolate the corrosive medium. Furthermore, optimizing operating conditions, controlling the temperature, flow rate, and pH value of the medium, reduces the risk of corrosion.
In one case, a heat exchanger tube sheet in a chemical plant suffered severe corrosion due to chloride ions. By replacing the tube sheet with titanium material and implementing cathodic protection, the corrosion rate was significantly reduced, extending the equipment's lifespan. Another case involved using a polymer coating for repair, which was cost-effective and highly effective, avoiding downtime losses.
