Avoiding burrs when cutting carbon steel plates hinges on parameter adjustment, equipment maintenance, and proper operating procedures.
I. Parameter Adjustment
Focus Position:
Are the burrs upright and irregular? The negative focus is insufficient; try adjusting from -6 to -65.
Are the burrs in a sunburst pattern? There is too much negative focus; reduce it to -5 or -55.
Is the straight-line cutting good, but there are burrs at sharp corners? Check "Real-time power/frequency adjustment" and adjust the curve parameters.
Cutting Speed and Power:
Are the burrs vertical and hard? The speed is too slow or the negative focus is insufficient; increase the speed or increase the negative focus.
Insufficient power will result in incomplete cutting; check the laser generator status and adjust the output value.
Gas Pressure:
Too low gas pressure can lead to incomplete slag removal; increasing the gas pressure appropriately can reduce burrs.
II. Equipment Maintenance
Nozzle Inspection:
Nozzle wear can cause abnormal sparks; replace the nozzle promptly.
Loose connection between the nozzle and the laser head will also affect cutting quality; re-secure the connection.
Machine Tool Stability:
Prolonged operation may lead to instability; it is recommended to shut down and restart the machine.
Unstable guide rail movement will also affect cutting; check and adjust as needed.
III. Operating Procedures
Gas Purity:
Using high-purity cutting gas (such as nitrogen) can reduce oxidation burrs.
Graphic Processing:
Appropriate chamfering or setting up circular cutting at sharp corners can reduce burr generation.
Parameter Optimization:
The processing acceleration is recommended to be 0.7~1g, the low-pass frequency around 5Hz, and the curve and corner control accuracy around 0.10mm.
IV. Other Precautions
Before cutting, ensure that the steel plate surface is free of rust, paint, or coatings to avoid affecting cutting quality.
If abnormal sparks occur when cutting low-carbon steel, check the nozzle wear, gas pressure, and connection status.
