New breakthrough of thin gauge pipeline steel

Recently, the first batch production of (API 5L X60M) L415M grade pipeline steel below 12mm in batch production line of 3500 mm coil was successfully delivered. This successful mass production marks a new breakthrough in our thin pipeline steel products.

After receiving the inquiry of (API 5L X60M) L415M pipeline steel with 10.3mm, 11.1mm and 11.9mm thin specifications, the professional and technical personnel of our company's production department, medium and heavy plate plant and science and technology quality center carefully analyzed and decided to carry out commissioning and production in the 3500 mm furnace coil production line. The Science and Technology Quality Center shall organize the relevant technical personnel of steelmaking plant and medium plate plant to formulate trial production scheme and determine smelting and rolling time. After analysis and many experiments, the technicians decided to change the water cooling mode to semi-automatic mode, so as to solve the shape problem by strengthening the stability of the water cooling process, and increase the cooling rate on the basis of ensuring the stability of the water cooling process. At the same time, the technical personnel increased the shear amount of the head and tail within the allowable range of thickness tolerance, effectively solved the problem of plate shape and head and tail uniformity, and created good conditions for mass production.
