Mechanical properties and application of 20MnV steel plate

20MnV is made of alloy structural steel, 20 represents carbon content, and "Mn" and "V" are chemical components of manganese and vanadium.

Executive standard of 20MnV steel plate: GB/T 3077; Unified numerical code A01202; Steel group series: MnV;

Delivery status of 20MnV steel plate: delivered in heat treatment (normalizing, annealing or high temperature tempering) or non heat treatment status, and the delivery status shall be indicated in the contract.

20MnV steel plate heat treatment:
First quenching heating temperature (℃): 880; Coolant: water, oil
Second quenching heating temperature (℃):-
Tempering heating temperature (℃): 200; Coolant: water, air

Performance characteristics of 20MnV steel plate:
The strength, plasticity and toughness of 20MnV steel are better than that of 20Mn2 steel, with good permeability and machinability. The tendency of grain growth during carburizing is small. After carburizing, it can be directly quenched, with good weldability. After welding, it should be stress relieved and annealed in time, but it has temper brittleness at 300-360℃. It can replace 20Cr and 20CrNi steel.

Application scope of 20MnV steel plate:
The strength, plasticity, toughness and hardenability of 20MnV steel plate are better than those of 20Mn2 steel. 20MnV steel is equivalent to 20CrNi steel, which can be used to manufacture boilers, high pressure vessels and pipes.
