Introduction to API X80 pipeline steel

API X80 high-grade pipeline steel is a low-carbon micro-alloy steel with controlled rolling and air cooling, with high strength and good ductile fracture resistance. X80 is the leading steel for gas pipelines in the world. API 5L series pipeline steel includes X80, X70, X65, X60, X56, X52, etc. The corresponding grade of API5L X80 is L555. The meaning of X80: X represents pipeline steel in the API Spec 5L standard, 80 is its strength level, and its unit is "kpsi", and X80 means that its minimum yield strength should reach 80kpsi, converted to metric units is approximately equal to 552MPa.

Remarks: Adding a small amount of Mo, Ni, Nb and other alloying elements can refine the grains, and Cu can also improve the corrosion resistance of steel.
