Basic properties of weathering steel Q355NHB

Q355NHB is a weathering steel plate and also belongs to the low alloy series. Q355NHB steel has the characteristics of rust resistance, corrosion resistance and longevity of components, thinning and consumption reduction, labor saving and energy saving. Weathering steel Q355NHB is mainly used to manufacture structural parts such as containers, railway vehicles, oil derricks, seaport buildings, oil production platforms and containers containing hydrogen sulfide corrosive medium in chemical and petroleum equipment.

Weathering steel Q355NHB chemical composition:
C: 0.16; Si: 0.50; Mn: 0.50-1.00; P0.030; S0.030; Cu: 0.25-0.55; Cr: 040-0.80; Ni0.65

In order to improve the performance of Q355NHB steel, one or more trace alloying elements can be added: Nb: 0.015%-0.060%, V: 0.02%-0.12%, Ti: 0.02%-0.10%, Alt≥0.020%.

If the above elements are used in combination, at least one of the elements should be guaranteed to reach the lower limit of the above chemical composition. Alloying elements can be added: Mo 0.30%, Zr 0.15%.
