ASTM A572 grade 50 flat steel plate is designed with low carbon niobium vanadium alloy (C≤0.23%), hot rolled yield strength ≥345MPa, tensile strength 450-600MPa, thickness range 1.5-200mm, widely used in engineering machinery load-bearing platforms and building steel structures. Its carbon equivalent CEIIW≤0.45%, supports submerged arc welding and laser cutting, and thick plates above 25mm need to be preheated at 150℃ to control welding cold cracks.
A572 grade 50 steel plate can increase the impact energy at -30℃ to ≥34J through normalizing treatment, and the cold bending radius of 6mm thin plate reaches 1.5 times the plate thickness. The surface can be sandblasted (Sa2.5 grade) or hot-dip galvanized (zinc layer ≥80μm) for corrosion protection. Compared with Q355B material, its fatigue life is increased by 30%, which is particularly suitable for high cycle load scenarios such as bridge panels.
Typical applications of A572 grade 50 steel plate include container crane main beams (plate thickness 16-40mm) and hydraulic press bases (plate thickness 50-100mm). The delivery status can be customized as hot rolled, controlled rolled or normalized.
