ASTM A572 grade 50 I-shaped steel, as an American standard low-alloy structural steel, is manufactured using hot rolling technology with a yield strength of ≥ 345MPa and a carbon equivalent controlled within the range of 0.38-0.45%. Fine grain strengthening is achieved by adding niobium and vanadium microalloying elements. Its typical cross-sectional parameters (such as W8 × 31 specification flange width of 205mm, web thickness of 7.2mm) and 200GPa elastic modulus are particularly suitable for the lateral force resistant structural system of high-rise buildings.
A572 grade 50 standard I H beam steel is widely used in key load-bearing areas such as super high-rise steel frame core tubes and industrial plant trusses due to its excellent welding performance (preheating temperature ≤ 120 ℃) and seismic performance (0 ℃ impact energy ≥ 54J). The procurement should focus on verifying the flatness tolerance (≤ 1.5mm per meter) and Z-direction performance indicators in ASTM A6/A6M standards.
