Applications of Inconel 800 steel in the petrochemical industry

Inconel 800 nickel-based alloy plays a crucial role in high-temperature equipment in the petrochemical industry. Its superior resistance to oxidation and carburization makes it an ideal material for high-temperature reaction vessels such as cracking furnaces and reformers. Inconel 800 alloy effectively resists sulfide and carbon deposition corrosion within the 500-900℃ range, significantly extending the service life of equipment.

In petrochemical catalytic reforming units, Inconel 800 is used to manufacture radiant section furnace tubes and reformer linings, withstanding the dual challenges of cyclic thermal shock and chemical corrosion. Its stable austenitic structure ensures no phase transformation during long-term high-temperature operation.

Inconel 800 material is also widely used in quench heat exchangers of ethylene cracking furnaces, maintaining structural integrity in high-temperature flue gas environments and providing reliable assurance for the safe operation of petrochemical plants.
