At the initial stage of corrosion, the rust layer on the surface of weathering steel is denser than that of carbon steel, A514 Grade B steel material, and there are relatively few cracks and holes. After 25 days, delamination occurs in some parts of carbon steel and weathering steel, and there is no difference in corrosion products, mainly due to the role of alloy elements in the rust layer. The precipitation of Cu and Cr alloy elements in the weathering rust layer can resist the invasion of moisture and harmful ions in the atmosphere, and further corrosion of steel and base metal can be prevented, so as to achieve the effect of atmospheric corrosion resistance.
