Shipbuilding steel plates are used to manufacture the hull of marine and inland ships. As the boiler steel plate works under medium temperature (below 350℃) and high pressure, it is also subject to impact, fatigue load and water and gas corrosion. Weathering steel generally adopts the process route of fine material into the furnace-smelting (converter, electric furnace-microalloying treatment-argon blowing-LF refining-low superheat continuous casting (feeding rare earth wire)-controlled rolling and cooling. The scrap steel is added into the furnace together with the charge, and smelted according to the conventional process. After the Steel S550QL1 Plate steel is tapped, deoxidizers and alloys are added. After the molten steel is treated with argon blowing, the molten steel is cast. By adding rare earth elements to the steel, the Steel S550QL1 Plate weathering steel is purified and the content of inclusions is greatly reduced.

In 2018, one of our India customers visit Zhengzhou office building and work shop to discuss carbon steel Q235B grind plate technical request. They have strict surface and thickness tolerance, and they also request UT and MT for testing for Q235B grind plate. As a result, they purchase 179 tons as trial order for first cooperation. After using the gind plate, the India customer has good comment on our Steel S550QL1 Plate quality. Till now, we keep exporting around 100 tons per month as regularly.
