The carbon A709 Gr 50 steel plate content of the pipeline steel is required to be low, and the strength of the pipeline steel is ensured by increasing the manganese content and adding trace elements such as niobium, titanium, vanadium and molybdenum. Normalizing is to heat the steel parts to 30~80℃above the critical temperature for a period of time. Then the parts are taken out of the furnace and cooled in air. Since the cooling rate of normalizing is faster than that of annealing, the strength and hardness of normalized A709 Gr 50 steel plate are higher than that of annealed A709 Gr 50 steel plate, but the elimination of internal stress is not as good as annealing. The normalizing operation of A709 Gr 50 steel plate is simple, the cost is low, the productivity is high, and it is widely used in actual production.
Composition of low alloy steel plate: Low carbon: due to the high requirements for toughness, weldability and cold formability of low alloy steel plate, the carbon content is not more than 0.20%; manganese is added; the auxiliary elements such as niobium, titanium or vanadium are added; a small amount of niobium, titanium or vanadium forms fine carbide or carbonitride in the steel, which is conducive to obtaining fine ferrite grains and improving the strength and toughness of low alloy steel plate; in addition, The corrosion resistance of A709 Gr 50 steel plate, low alloy steel plate can be improved by adding a small amount of copper (< 0.4%) and phosphorus (about 0.1%).
